From responsibly managing water usage to minimizing chemical inputs, our partner farms prioritize sustainability at every stage of cultivation. But sustainability isn't just about environmental impact—it's also about social responsibility. That's why we ensure that our partner farms provide fair wages and safe working conditions for their workers. By supporting local communities and empowering farmers, we're fostering a culture of respect and equity in everything we do.

Our Supply Chain

With airfreight generating 47 times more greenhouse gases than ocean freight per ton-mile transported, prioritizing ocean freight enables us to take a proactive approach to mitigate our carbon footprint and promote sustainability throughout our supply chain online shopping is 87% more efficient than in-store shopping, significantly reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions. By operating exclusively online, we leverage this efficiency, saving substantial amounts of energy typically expended in heating, cooling, and lighting physical stores. Furthermore,  transportation contributes significantly to carbon emissions, with airfreight generating 47 times more greenhouse gases than ocean freight. Hence, we've meticulously selected ocean freight as our primary transportation method from Persia, aligning with our commitment to minimize environmental impact.

Our Fabrics

Modal

Our journey begins with modal, a fabric derived from sustainably managed beech forests in Mazandaran, Persia. Here, organic modal flourishes from renewable fibers of beech trees, responsibly thinned out rather than cut down—a practice integral to sustainable foresting. The wood undergoes a meticulous process, dissolved in a closed-loop system with non-toxic organic solvents, ensuring minimal environmental impact. Beech trees' low water requirement—10-20 times less than other fabric types—combined with their ability to thrive without artificial irrigation, makes modal production remarkably eco-friendly. Additionally, modal's production process, akin to viscose but simpler and with reduced toxic waste, relies less on chemicals due to the regenerative nature of beech trees. Plus, modal's complete biodegradability ensures a minimal environmental footprint, aligning with our commitment to eco-conscious practices.

Persian Lotus Silk™

Our sustainability journey continues with Lotus silk, sourced from sustainable family farms in Persia. Lotus silk, a natural flower fiber, is 100% animal cruelty-free, reflecting our brand's ethical values. Beyond its cruelty-free nature, Lotus silk stands out for its ability to protect fish and insects in our ecosystem while purifying the water in which it grows. This eco-friendly fabric contains zero chemical or toxic products, and its manufacturing process is equally sustainable—requiring no gas, electricity, or additional water. Harvested without hazardous pesticides or chemicals, Lotus silk's delicate production process ensures minimal environmental impact, reinforcing our brand's commitment to sustainable practices.

rPET

To increase the endurance of our products, we use recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) as our alternative to polyester fabric. Polyester is not biodegradable and harms the environment, and almost half of the world’s clothing is produced using this fabric. As one of our contributions to sustainable development, we choose to use rPET which is made by recycling plastic waste and water bottles into fibers. This is eco-friendly because recycling one ton of rPET materials saves 7.4 cubic yards of landfill space. With this practice, we also contribute to saving the marine environment as 8 million metric tons of plastic are thrown into the ocean annually. Aside from this, rPET is manufactured using 90% less water, 59% less energy, and 32% less carbon dioxide emissions than other fabrics. We’ve been continually reflecting and developing our processes over time. As a result, we plan on also using organic cotton and linen in our collections.

Our People

We believe that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness. We recognize that our success is built on the hard work and dedication of the people in our supply chain, and we are committed to upholding their rights and ensuring fair wages for all. Our workers' rights and wages policy is grounded in the principle of treating everyone like family. Just as we value and care for our own family members, we extend the same level of care and support to everyone involved in our supply chain, from the farmers cultivating our materials to the artisans crafting our products.

Our Community

Our workforce comprises a significant majority of women, spanning from the farmers tending to our fields, to the artisans crafting our products, and the skilled workers in our workshops. We are deeply committed to empowering women at every stage of our supply chain, providing them with opportunities for growth and financial independence. Through fair wages, equal opportunities, and supportive working environments, we strive to uplift and empower women, recognizing their invaluable contributions to our success. In addition to empowering women, we are committed to uplifting farmers in our supply chain, empowering them to achieve financial independence and stability. By partnering with local farmers and providing fair prices for their produce, we enable them to invest in their communities, support their families, and build a brighter future for themselves and future generations.
